The Sharjah Committee for National Day Celebrations declared National Day festivities at Sharjah government workplaces and working environments have been dropped considering the progressing pandemic.

Khalid Jasim Al Midfa, administrator of the council, said the security and prosperity of individuals is the most priority of the authorities in the emirate. 

However, the scheduled the grand concert show booked at Al Majaz Amphitheater will occur sticking to all Covid-19 precautionary steps, he added. 

"All the precautionary measures suggested by the National Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Management Authority (NCEMA) and the instructions of the Sharjah Executive Council are being strictly enforced to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all those attending the concert," said Al Midfa.

"The broad-based health safety measures being enforced by the authorities on the occasion include maintaining public hygiene, physical distancing, using contactless digital technology and frequent sterilisation and cleaning of all premises," he added.

National Day Grand Concert 

Signs to keep up social distancing and actual physical space of at least two meters have been put in the seating section of the iconic Al Majaz Amphitheater. Additionally the hand sanitizer dispensers are installed at the key areas and at the entry and exit doors as well, said Al Midfa. 

Famous Emirati craftsman Hussein Al Jasmi will lead the concert, and the collections from these show will go to help the compassionate activities of the Big Heart Foundation. Other well known artists participating in the show include Aryam, Jassim Mohammed, Faisal Al Jassem and Arib who will play out their Emirati tunes in front of an audience. 

"Al Majaz Amphitheater has been installed with sterilization gates and thermal cameras, in addition to the presence of security men at the main entrance gate who will utilize heat scanning to keep out any suspected cases," explained by Al Midfa. 

"Sterilised buses have been arranged to transport the audience members to the concert venue, with security personnel monitoring the temperature of all attendees before they board the buses"

An well trained group has been entrusted by the council to guide and screen the participants and implement the precautionary safety measures. The distribution of mementoes and exchange of individual greetings has been prohibited at the venue. Eating and drinking inside the theater area is strictly not allowed and has been limited to the external zone.
