Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, emphasized that Expo 2020 in Dubai will be a global platform for the vision of a future full of opportunity for generations to come. 

The late founding father, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, and continued his leadership, will greet the world at Expo 2020 Dubai, which is an invitation to draft a roadmap for the post-coronavirus (COVID19) era, he added. 

Statement during his visit to the Expo site, where he reviewed the preparations of all the relevant authorities to host the largest exhibition organized in the Middle East, Africa and South Asia and the largest gathering since the beginning of the COVID19 pandemic, the Expo 2020 will begin in October 2021 with participation from 192 countries.

During his tour he was welcomed by H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Higher Committee Expo 2020 Dubai, Re em bint Ibrahim Al Hashemy, Minister of State for International Cooperation and Director General of the Dubai Expo 2020 Office and Dr. Sultan bin Ahmed Al Jaber, Minister for Industry and Advanced Technology. 

Sheikh Abdullah visited the United Arab Emirates National Pavilion, which is shaped like a flying hawk, to promote the rich culture and bright future of the country and be a main attraction at Expo 2020 Dubai. 

"The UAE will always be the land of opportunities, a centre of tolerance, coexistence and cultural diversity, and a beacon of knowledge. By hosting the Expo 2020 Dubai and through our membership of the UN Security Council from 2022 to 2023, we aim to promote international cooperation and collaborate with countries and multilateral organisations to maintain international stability and development and accelerate the process of recovery from the pandemic," he said.

“The United Arab Emirates will always be the land of unlimited possibilities, a center of tolerance, coexistence and cultural diversity. By hosting Dubai Expo 2020 and through our membership in the UN Security Council from 2022 to 2023, our goal is to promote international cooperation and collaboration with countries and multilateral organizations to maintain international stability and development and to accelerate the recovery process from the pandemic"

He then visited Terra The Sustainability Pavilion, a groundbreaking model for the introduction of sustainable practices and a learning innovation and development platform in support of the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals, where he visualized their content.The 4,912 solar panels on Terra, the 130-meter-wide canopy of the sustainability pavilion and the 18 energy trees help generate 4 GWh of alternative energy per year, enough electricity to charge more than 900,000 cell phones. Terra (which means ‘Planet Earth’) will offer a journey through the wonders of nature, including an interactive walk through the roots of the forest with every step touching the "wood-wide-web". The pavilion also uses cutting edge strategies for water reduction, water recycling and alternative water sources. 

Sheikh Abdullah thanked the teams who have worked for years planning the next edition of the major international event and stated that for its Golden Jubilee, the UAE is hosting a prominent edition of Expo 2020 Dubai, which will be held on October 1st From 2021 to March 31, 2022, Expo 2020 Dubai will be the first and largest Expo 2020 in the Middle East, Africa and South Asia (MEASA) in the history of the BIE (Bureau International des Expositions) under the motto "Connecting Minds, Creating the Future" The first major exhibition, held in London in 1851, will bring 192 countries to attend the event alongside the UN and other international and multinational organizations and initiatives, as well as international academic institutions, making it the most comprehensive and diverse global cultural, economic and human expo ever can be organized.
